Representatives of Africa’s number one retail fashion brand, Woodin, on Wednesday, 24th August, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the outgoing French Ambassador, Anne Sophie AVÉ.

The delegation, which included the Brand Director for Woodin, Hélène Miasuekama, presented Madame Anne Sophie AVÉ with souvenirs from the company to thank her for her support in the shooting of their web series “La Maison Chiq”.
Madame Miasuekama expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador for her support on the web series and her work in the country during her tenure in general.

“Thank you for all you have done for this country. I know you very involved in everything creative. So it’s a good occasion to say goodbye and we hope we continue in other facets,” she said.Madame Miasuekama expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador for her support on the web series and her work in the country during her tenure in general.

Another member of the delegation, Michelle Attoh said the team was very appreciative of Madame Anne Sophie AVÉ’s efforts to improve the lives of underprivileged children in Ghana through her Akosua Fund.

“Barely two months ago, we were invited [to the French Embassy] and we filmed La Maison Chic. We invaded your residence to shoot it and we took you out of your comfort zone, but you were such a great sport. We want to come and say thank you officially with our representation from Woodin,” Michelle Attoh said.

“To make this donation exercise even more valuable – because you obviously have very strong links to Ghana and because you wanted to support the educational system in Ghana for your Foundation, Woodin has also contributed to your foundation, educational materials for your children to say thank you once again for supporting Woodin and education in Ghana.”

The French Ambassador was also presented with fabrics and other trinkets from Woodin.

“Because you are a fashion-savvy individual, you’re a very social individual. You’re not just an ambassador; you represent style, fashion and beauty. We want to adorn you with Woodin fabrics from Woodin. We wish you a safe return and when you do come back [to Ghana], please do wear Woodin,” Michelle Attoh added.

H.E. Anne Sophie Avé was overwhelmed by the positive reception of her time in Ghana and the gifts from Woodin, insisting that she cherished every moment in the country, including the role in the web series.

She also praised the country’s designers, including Woodin, saying the dynamism and colour in the local designs provided welcome relief in a difficult time globally.

“Ghana has taken me out of my comfort zone but I was very happy to do many things outside of my comfort zone. That’s how you create great memories. I was very proud to be able to wear many Ghanaian designers. You have amazing designers who are doing amazing things. It’s with huge pride that I’m taking these fabrics away with me because whenever I wear Ghanaian outfits, everyone goes, ‘wow’”.
